THIS YEAR FOR EASTER INSTEAD OF THE RABBIT I USUALLY PUT IN HIS BASKET (BRYAN IS GETTING WAY TOO OLD FOR THAT) I DECIDED TO TRY TO MAKE HIM SOMETHING A BIT MORE TO HIS LIKING. YES, EDGAR MAY BE A BIT GLOOMY FOR AN EASTER BASKET BUT BRYAN LIKED HIM AND THAT WAS ALL THAT MATTERED.
SO ARMED WITH A PRINTED COPY OF THE DAGUERREOTYPE SHOT BY MATTHEW BRADY,
A FEW CHOICE DESCRIPTIONS OF POE:
Mr. Poe had a certain charm and was especially favored by the ladies.
A genius, a madman and a poet.
I MADE MY RENDITION OF THE DARK POET,
THIS IS ACTUALLY EDGAR 2 - ONE I MADE TO SELL - BRYAN'S EDGAR WAS OF COURSE FINISHED ONLY HOURS BEFORE HE WAS PLOPPED IN HIS BASKET.
RARELY DO I MAKE THE SAME DOLL OVER AGAIN - BUT EDGAR TURNED OUT SO WELL I WILL MAKE HIM AGAIN FROM TIME TO TIME - I DO NOT USE PATTERNS FOR MY DOLLS SO EACH EDGAR - ALTHOUGH SIMILAR - WILL BE UNIQUE.
Thank you for dropping by - I so appreciate your taking the time to look at my blog,
I create one of a kind unique characters . I am passionate about my art and love to incorporate whimsy and usual elements or themes into my pieces. Although I create dolls for all seasons and holidays, I must admit that I adore Halloween and love to make witches and pumpkins and things that go bump in the night.
My work has been published in Art Doll Quarterly and Prims .....Cordelia and Niles, my witch and cat combination were honored to be on the cover of the 2012 Autumn issue of Art Doll Quarterly
I have an Etsy Shop Primville where you will find items for sale and I take limited commissions
email me to be put on list to receive advance notification of listings or to discuss a commission piece.
